Blog Post of the Day: What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?
Choose at topic and begin creating a PSA using Prezi
Remember, no bullets and titles. That's boring. I'm not looking for a clique presentation. This is something that is above and beyond the normal and easy presentation. In fact, it shouldn't' really resemble a presentation at all. BE DIFFERENT! Explore and figure out something cool and new.
We will create our Prezi accounts and remember to save log on information to your Evernote account.
Tip! This is different than just a slideshow with bullets and headers - this is supposed to make an impact and involve emotion. Example:http://www.bvbusiness.com/search/label/Emerging%20Technology Day 13, Jan. 22
Blog Post of the Day: What is a public service announcement (PSA)? What do PSA's do? What makes a good PSA? How can you get someone to take action after watching a PSA? What is you PSA idea? Explain in detail.
Emerging Technology:
Continue working on your PSA from class yesterday using Google Slides
Remember, your PSA doesn't have to be longer than 5 slides but it needs to be animated with no "clicks" required.
You must cite all images and information on a slide at the end. This is not included as part of your 5 slides.
When you are finished you will embed on your blog!

Blog Post of the Day: Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
DO NOT MAKE A BORING PSA! How can you be original and different? How will your PSA evoke emotion and not just be the bare minimum. Prove to me that you can do more than just put words on a slide.
When you are finished (which should probably not be today if you are striving to impress me) you will embed your PSA to your blog.
A quick reminder on how to embed a presentation from Google Slides:
Click on File > Publish to the web > Start Publishing
Change the size of your presentation to Custom and enter the width of your blog post in pixels. Most of your widths are between 600-750px.
Copy the embed code.
Open a new post in Blogger and change to HTML view.
Paste the embed code and change your view back to Compose.
If your presentation is too big or too small, go back and change the pixel width.
Blog Post of the Day: Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos! Today in Emerging Technology:
Remember, no bullets and titles. That's boring. I'm not looking for a clique presentation. This is something that is above and beyond the normal and easy presentation. In fact, it shouldn't' really resemble a presentation at all. BE DIFFERENT! Explore and figure out something cool and new.
The expectation is that you work the entire hour to make your PSA as amazing as possible. Towards the end of the hour, you may start embedding your PSA on to your blog.
Don't remember how to embed? There are instructions on Friday's post.

Day 11, January 20
Present you Google Who Am I**
Day 12, January 21
Blog Post of the Day: What is a Public Service Announcement?
If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?
Today in Emerging Technology:
- Introduce Public Service Announcements
- Watch an example of an announcement (below)
- Go over the PSA Rubric
- Choose at topic and begin creating a PSA using Prezi
- Remember, no bullets and titles. That's boring. I'm not looking for a clique presentation. This is something that is above and beyond the normal and easy presentation. In fact, it shouldn't' really resemble a presentation at all. BE DIFFERENT! Explore and figure out something cool and new.
- We will create our Prezi accounts and remember to save log on information to your Evernote account.
Tip! This is different than just a slideshow with bullets and headers - this is supposed to make an impact and involve emotion.Example: http://www.bvbusiness.com/search/label/Emerging%20Technology
Day 13, Jan. 22
Blog Post of the Day: What is a public service announcement (PSA)? What do PSA's do? What makes a good PSA? How can you get someone to take action after watching a PSA? What is you PSA idea? Explain in detail.
Emerging Technology:
- Continue working on your PSA from class yesterday using Google Slides
- Remember, your PSA doesn't have to be longer than 5 slides but it needs to be animated with no "clicks" required.
- You must cite all images and information on a slide at the end. This is not included as part of your 5 slides.
- When you are finished you will embed on your blog!

Blog Post of the Day:
Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
- Work on your Public Service Announcement that we started last Tuesday
- DO NOT MAKE A BORING PSA! How can you be original and different? How will your PSA evoke emotion and not just be the bare minimum. Prove to me that you can do more than just put words on a slide.
- When you are finished (which should probably not be today if you are striving to impress me) you will embed your PSA to your blog.
A quick reminder on how to embed a presentation from Google Slides:Blog Post of the Day: Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!
